Hello all. I have long been lurking here but this is my first post. I went on a short vacation, and failed to turn my doser back on before i left 🤦🏼‍♂️. I came home to a alk drop from 9.1 to 7.9 over the course of 2 days (tested monday, and came back and tested today around the same time). I have returned the doses to its normal service, and dosed 2 part to bring alk back up to 8.5 (this matches my typical dailey usage) did i make a mistake doing so much at once? How do i move forward to bring my alk back to 9.0. LPS heavy ref with birdsnest and bubblegum digi colonies.

I expect it will be fine. It’s not clear to me whether it was better to rise slowly or fast, given that is been only 2 days.

I am not a chemist like Randy is but .6 increase shouldnt hurt anything. If you want to be conservative I would hit it again with .3 two times a day apart while dosing your afr daily should take it to close to 9.1, afr should cover the consumption as long as it didnt change.

You are overreacting, think about it. When you buy new coral, what is the alk at the lfs or vendor across the country versus yours? Then you do acclimation which could be dripping or temperature and even my method of you're gonna deal with it squishy rock. Nothing bad happens and you go on about your day just as the coral and everything else does.
