Looking for New Fish ideas

might go after OP's smaller gobies like the shark nose and the flaming prawn goby
And the Gulf Signal Blenny.
I like the thought of a second Mandarin, but as mentioned, for some reason this fish has been my most difficult to keep long term. Things are going better than ever with this one and I don’t want to risk anything.
The Candy Basslet I love and it is a striking fish to see.
I’m looking for something comparable, which may be hard to find.
An ornate leopard wrasse would work even with you having a mandarin already and they keep very nice patterns and colors even if it shifts to male

An odd ball would be Suttonia lineata, also known as the red soapfish. While being a soapfish, they actually have been proven to lack grammisitin, the toxin associated to soapfish

Do the regal, I have two in my tank, with two clams, a bunch of zoos, and some torches and SPS. Knock on wood but so far, so good.

Revisiting this as I’m thinking of hitting a store or two either today or tomorrow. List of current fish in my first post.
Looking for unique additions, not overly worried about price. Color and temperament are a bigger factor. Tank is super peaceful and hoping to continue that path.

if you have branching coral the red headed stylophora goby would be nice (Paragobiodon echinocephalus)

Dwarf Red Waspfish. They stay small, about 2 1/2" don't eat anything they can't swallow whole, and are colorful. My pair are about to spawn.

This is interesting. I would assume as an ambush predator that there is not much movement?
Some of my gobies would be of concern unfortunately.

Are you having to target feed? Or will they feed out of the water column when feeding everyone else?
Pretty much any kind of wasp/scorpionfish will need to be target fed.
What's the issue with an assessor? They fit the "medium sized open water swimmer" pretty much perfectly.

Candy Basslet , if the tank was bigger I wouldn’t hesitate.

So I did pick up a few finned friends:
Lamarck Angel
2x Scissor tail Darts
3x Chalk Bass
Solar Wrasse
Blue Star Leopard
Serpentine Goby( super unique)
Yellow Coris

Why would there be an issue with the candy basslet? We can't have Liopropoma here in Aus, so i'm not terribly familiar with them, is your one aggressive?
Assessors aren't related to Liopropoma, look quite different and fill a very different niche (they are planktivorous) so i don't see what the issue could be.

i own a male while personalities can vary massively mine is actually super active but yes they can definitely go for your flaming prawn goby and can sometimes be stubborn to get on prepared food

For you Waspfish do you feed them directly or can they compete against the more aggressive, fast swimming fish during meal time?
