I am really just curious but I have a 130 gallon tank with a good amount of corals and I dose 40ml. AFR daily. I also have to dose 50ml. magnesium daily to keep that stable. How does that compare to others? What size tank do you have and how much do you dose? And do you need to supplement with Magnesium or does the AFR keep that up too?
Thanks!

Ive got a 15 gallon that uses 2 ml. And a 30 gallon that uses 5 ml.
Magnesium I'm not too concerned with. Water changes etc keep that up to proper levels.

I think you are going to get a varying of opinions as we all have different systems and age of maturity. My display is 210 gallons with a sump and refugium that measures 54 x 30 x 30. Mixed reef with a couple very large LPS and SPS colonies that exceed 18".

I dose 95 ml/day between the hours of 0800 and 1700.

Edit: I see you mentioned magnesium - I have not run into any issues with it.

The higher a fraction of your total alk need is coralline, the more likely you are to need extra magnesium with AFR.

Wow that’s interesting how there is such a difference in usage between tanks. It makes sense but I never really thought about it. Does anyone also have to dose magnesium and if so how much?

40ml/day in my 80 gallon. I test Mg infrequently but notice sometimes it creeps a little down. I do a couple of bolus Mg doses to correct.
I will occasionally bolus dose magnesium. Doesn’t always need correction when I check biweekly. Usually will bump it up from about 1280ish to 1350ish split between two bolus doses using the brs calculator for dry powder.

Anyone combining all for reef with kalk in top off? I’m waiting for a sale on an apex controller to come around so I can start consistently monitoring pH and potentially adding some kalk to my top off if my pH is running low. Hopefully thus increasing coral growth. I know a lot of hypotheticals but is anyone here doing this? Any issues, what’s the verdict?

I've know of one doing it and read of others using the combination. I do not though, no. @Troylee if I remember has both and a kicking system. He doesn't count though because he is a newb :)

Lou (Tropic Marin) talks about Kalkwasser & All For Reef at the 48 minute marker plus or minus a few seconds.

I’m adding 10 mL AFR per day to my 47g AIO and test with a trident to maintain cal at 420. My mixed reef with mostly LPS is at the 1 year mark. I was dosing 5 mL about 4 months ago. Below is a picture of the tank.

Oh yeah, I do occasionally add Mg but that’s usually after a couple water changes because my salt (Red Sea blue) has lower Mg than I want. I think Red Sea blue is at 1250 and I try to keep it at 1350.
