I just jumped into Hydros. This is my second large tank (200g+) in 35 years with a 15yr break in between. I've never had a controller so we'll see how this goes New tank been up close to a year. I did a lot of research & think I made the right decision for me. Waiting now for Mavin.

Some of it is hooked up. I haven't had much free time lately. The tank is coming up on a year old. Wish I had just bit the bullet & set this up when I set up the tank, would have been a heck of a lot easier! I'll post some pics shortly! I have everything mounted, firmware updated & formed the collective, but the only things operational right now are temp sensor & ato. I bought those panels to mount the modules onto & hung those on the wall, but I don't like it. I'm going to take it apart & just mount everything to the wall above my sump & get rid of those panels. It's in an unfinished room behind the tank.

So I installed Kraken today & the first Force Port I set up was to run my Varios pump running my skimmer. That's the first power brick I wanted to replace. I believe it is set up correctly - see attached photo - the light is green on the Force port I'm using to try to power it, but when I plug in the 24V Force Port adapter, nothing. The pump will not come on. I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Second Pic is the Varios brick
Third Pic is the pump working with the brick, I'm holding the adapter cable
Fourth Pic is of the pump box

You do have the Kraken Meanwell power supply hooked up and powered up? The settings look ok. Also those barrel connectors have 2 sizes for the center pin. Make sure it is the correct one for the pump. I think one is 2.5 and the other is 2.1. The outer barrel is 5.5 if I remember correctly.

There are two Outputs on the Kraken. Like a dummy, I had the wrong one hooked up. I switched them and its working. I forgot all about that second output. Not really sure what it's for, maybe a second Kraken if you have a monster tank? Or something to do with the battery backup, which I ignored because I have a whole home generator.

You are not the first and you won’t be the last!

The battery backup is connected using a port on the face of the Kraken with all the other ports. Might not be a bad idea to have a battery connected but I does not have to be a large one if you have a whole house backup. It would keep the controllers powered while the system switches over to you backup since the would not loose power and have to power back up. Not sure how the whole house backup system works. We do not have one but we rarely loose power where we are at.
