My kids used to call them "Squishies".
Realistic tank inhabitants: LOVE Gem Tangs - do not own one yet but want to.

Mantis Shrimp - may happen down the road if I set up a macro tank.

Lion Fish - love to watch but I will never own.

My favorite depends on what day of the week you ask me lol but I'm gonna go with either the Carribean reef shark or the white tip reef shark. Or maybe the hammerhead. I just think sharks are super cool, especially reef sharks.

Here's the white tip

And the carribean

I wanna go diving with Carribean reef sharks one day

I'll never own a tank big enough to house them, but my wife and I snorkeled through a school of them in Cancun.

I was at a pet store week or so ago and they had a Great Barracuda for sale. It made me wonder how many people in the hobby have anything even close to big enough to keep a barracuda that gets 5' long. It was interesting to look at though.

My favorite sea creature would probably be an octopus. I've watched documentaries on them solving simple puzzles and it always fascinated me. I've never owned one and probably never will, due to their care requirements and their short lifespan.

It's a toss up for me between sea turtles and manatees. Both can bring me to tears (of delight and adoration) in mere seconds. If given the opportunity to swim with either one, I would be a sobbing mess, complete disaster. And an absolute terror to deal with if (when) you told me it was time to leave. You're 3 year old's tantrum in the grocery store last week would seem like paradise! :D

My choice is any cuttlefish, and believe this one is a dwarf from Seattle Aquarium. It's not that I can't keep one, I just won't keep one because they live two years or less, and I just mentally could not take a creature only living that short of time.

Their personality and ability to change color and texture is just fascinating.

are there any good fish store in the area? I'm in nwa and there are only 2 fish store and one them is fw only
Not really...

Used to be a really good one, but it closed. Might be re-opening under a new owner, but nothing is certain yet.

We've got two, Aquarium Shoppe, and Simply Reefs. Aquarium Shoppe is run by a knowledgeable guy, but he's never there. He concentrates on his aquarium maintenance business, and lets his cheap labor run the shop. Not great. Simply Reefs opened a year or two back. I was quite excited at the prospect, looked encouraging at first, but I'm unhappy with the direction they're taking. Not my kind of shop.

Some nice places in St. Louis. Seascape Studios is my favorite, but there are several worth the drive. I used to go to the local reefing club's frag swaps (SLASH), and then stop at a few shops. Of course, that was before the covid thing. Probably resume when things get back to normal, if things get back to normal.

KC, same thing. A few decent shops. Reef Rack and Picasso probably top the list, but there are several.

They are my favorite too. Haven't kept one cause don't have the time and space for it. But one day, one day I will, hopefully...

How the heck did you get a blue ring octopus?
mid 80's could order a lot of things.
I had to pre pay the lfs and pick it up when it came in. they wouldn't put it in their tank.
I remember the bag having a skull and crossbones and labeled DANGER.
maybe I paid $20?
over $200 last time I looked.
fed it live fiddler crabs.
