Aluminium bar heatsink

2"x 2" aluminium bar ,
Wouald this make a good heatsink?
If so, can I zigzag the leds down ? Or wouald a straight row be best? And wouald i need to add a fan source blowing inside? Or just blowing down on onside?

A little more info on what you are attempting to do would be helpful.

I used 1" square aluminium for mine. 3 of them 6ft long for my 125. No fans no issues.

You probably don't need it but it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a fan on either end. One sucking air in and one blowing it out. The cooler you keep the LEDs the longer they'll last.

Thanks guys, I'll see about some fans. Now can I run leds in a staggered pattern on 2"? Or just a straight line?
