Am I on the right track?

The struggle was real. My current problem is the multibar that escaped. He is not nipping but is chasing everyone in the tank. He runs that place. Going to try catching him again in the acclimation box/trap. Honestly the swings and nutrient issues were def a prob. We had a basement flood and I wasn't able to do water changes for a bit. I have an Apex coming and am honing in on the consumption rate to dose ca/mg/ak.

Do you have an automatic water changing system?

I do not as of now. I just manually do water changes. I’m actually going to one of my LFS’s today to get a dosing head to setup an Auto WC system. I run Neptune system so I’m going with the Neptune doser. As for ACM since my 300 is still pretty new I’m only dosing alk. Because I don’t have ca and mg consumption. I’m doing a 30-35 gal WC every week. And running a RS Reefmat so waters pretty clean.

My N03 is at 9.5 +- and P04 is at .05-.08 indeed heavy and so I run a BRS GFO reactor with rowa phos. Stuff insane for pulling PO4. My P04 was up to .25 and I didn’t like it being it was only climbing. Anything with I can’t dose anything with lanthanum because I have two yellow tangs. And many other tangs. So not wanting to risk it. If I can get away from hard chemicals when it comes to DT tanks will do it. Over all I stepped in with Rowa to get P04 lowered my rocks don’t start absorbing it and then giving me head aches later on!

I forget, does your have sump? If large enough put the multi bar there. What odd thing for a multibar angle to act like that haha. All my angles are model citizens. And I have multiple in my 300 and in my 150 system.

I think you need to keep aggressors about a week. They tend to forget the tank layout and look at it as a whole new world haha.

Ohhhh. Exciting on the auto system. I will be adding a Dos as well at some point as an automatic water changing system. Let me know how it goes, please. Its going to be my next addition after I set up my Neptune A3 next week.

I do have a sump and if I can catch him again in the acclimation box will throw him in there. I hadn’t thought of that. My p04 are through the roof, I have a GFO reactor as well and just set it up. I am also dosing Macrobacter 7, Purple M and will add Clean to the mix. I thought about adding a Reef Mat but honestly not sure about it. I have multiple Red Sea products and the skimmer is so annoying. I bumped it this morning and had to take it apart to reaffix the pump. I have heard a lot of people having issues with the Reef Mat. How has it worked for you?
