Can anyone tell me why when someone posts a link to something on amazon, I only see an amazon logo? I cannot click the logo to take to amazon, just a simple logo. Like this post.

For some reason Amazon url links are automatically converted by the forum to the media tag instead of url. This turns the url into a linked thumbnail of the product link and price. Depending on browser and ad blockers, these may show up as broken links, show up incorrectly, or not show up at all. I haven't figured out a way to stop this behavior and to just show it as a regular url. Even going back in and editing the post and deleting the media tags and explicitly putting url tags in there will auto convert back to media.

Firefox browser with adblocker turned off for this site. I'll gove edge a try and see, didnt think it was a browser issue.

Yeah I noticed when I quoted a post there are media tags for the url. I thought maybe if I tried to quote the post, I could get the URL, and thats when I noticed they were media tags and not a url.

Definitely a browser issue. Just went to the same post on EDGE, and it worked fine. Thumbnail of the add page and clickable.

I'll have to see if I can figure out what in firfox is blocking the link.

Holy carp batman!!!!

I found it and never in a million years would I have thought it was a browser issue. It was the built in content blocking. Turned it off for this site, and all amazon links show again. Might want to give that a try @puffy127. Click the shield icon in the address bar, and choose to turn off for this site.

Thanks. But I would wish R2R didn't auto-convert Amazon links to media in the first place.

It's not R2R per say, it's the software used to run R2R. I don't know if that's something @revhtree can turn off or not.

Ok this is odd....I even checked a few threads I knew that had just the logo.

I logged out, turned off my laptop, ate dinner, logged back in, and I show just the logo again....

Wasn't the content blocking as that is still turned off. I clear my cache and cookies when I close the browser.:mad:

maybe it is something in the software? Wouldn't this be a call to @Daniel@R2R?
