Amber blob growing...

I have this amber colored blob growing on my powerhead in the refugium. It showed up about 2 months ago and is growing pretty fast totally size is about 2 inches. Any ideas what it is?

It's a type of algae, the name escapes me right now.

Cool, at least knowing it is an algae helps narrow down the possibilities. If I figure it out I will post it in here.

On another site they believe it is in the Genus Colpomenia. Do you think it could be Colpomenia peregrine?

Oyster thief algae! My mind is settled :)

Awesome! It appears that algae is not harmful. I plan to let it live in the fuge and see how it goes.
