Has anyone ever converted a DaStaCo calcium reactor into a 110v model? My controller crapped out and will no longer turn the CO2 solenoid on so I was thinking of replacing the circulation pump with a 110v Eheim 1046 pump and somehow wiring the CO2 float switch to something that can regulate an electric carbon doser.

Assuming I can swap the European 1046 with an American one, the question is how do I set up a float switch to control a carbon doser?

I can use a daily timer to turn the unit off for venting so that part of the control is not a real issue. I'd also use a US powered dosing pump to control effluent (granted this might need played with a little to dial in so not as easy as the DaStaCo controller was).

Any ideas? I like the idea of a full saturation Ca reactor.

Maybe this will help...

Did ur controller die or did the float switch go bad ? If its the floats witch id just order a replacement, just ordered one and received it, comes with the bottom pvc part and the wiring... that would be my choice if its the float switch, or maybe doing the DIY thing in the video posted above.

If its the controller that died id check with manufacturer if it can be fixed or else order a replacement which I realise will be expensive especially adding shipping.
What i get from ur post is you want to change components to 110v which means taking out the controller? I wouldn't want to lose the alarms option but if thats what you want (basically just use the reactors as a regular ca reactor?) You would need something to not only control Co2 dosing but to control it based on reactors PH as the native controller has a set Co2 dosing schedule and water turnover linked to percentage set. Im afraid using a Co2 doser and keeping the original controller will result in some alarms.
