Since the ammonia supposedly started spiking ~10-11pm last night, the should have been surface crusing this morning, I would think. Tank definitely looks normal with normal fish activity.but ability / inability to control ammonia? Known by ten pm tonite/after lights off (when oxygen production ceases for the photoperiod). Those fish w hit the topwater and hover there, breathing labored, gills burned by free ammonia. But if they go all nite and are evenly distributed in the morning, cannot be ammonia.
Not salt. 1 African Cichlid and 2 FW planted.Hey do u have any other tanks you can benchmark the slide and current tuning against
It will not soak up ammonia- the filter and removal of waste does.Carbon. Chemi pure or the elite. Activated charcol. Will absorb. Soak up amonias. Phosphates. Nitrates..clear your water. Ect. Doesnt do it forever so it has to be changed.

I agree. Initially one of those semi-stressful events, but visual reality not matching expectations given the supposed levels. Now helping @brandon429 in his quest to understand these bad readings. :)I seriously doubt your corals would be open and looking good (which they are from the pics) if there was an appreciable amount of ammonia in the water.
I'd only be concerned if things start looking stressed.
I have such a hard time picturing these. 1st 2 are standing up. 3rd is laying down on desk. Due to being WFH, I have to be super careful what I photograph during work hours. Was trying to make sure no screen images at all.I truly think this will be a helpful post to many reefers.
***hey TC on that third ammonia pic, that's green enough to cause a buying rush that's classic api panic mode, why is that test result darker than the other two which are only minor panic mode (being able to contrast tank pics, seneye trending and API in one thread not started by a total filtration skeptic is rare gold)
