Ammonia THROUGH THE ROOF

Gm. So question. Just checked parameters and ph is now 7.8, ammonia 0, Nitrite 5.0ppm and nitrate 160 ppm. All still same. Should I water change again or just leave it?

Many folks would just leave it and put stuff in. Personally on my current tank I let the nitrite come down on its own whilst I quarantined stuff to go in it. This also gave adequate fallow period in the display for the little live rock I added to that, for any pests to die off.

Don't test nitrate until nitrite is gone. Some nitrate tests are thrown off by the presence of nitrite. Do a water change once nitrite is gone.

Yes, it can be very slow, but not harmful in itself.

Just got off work and tested levels and it looks like it finally cycled.
