Melanarus wrasse owners are you able to maintain a good amphipod population with your melanarus wrasse? Prior to adding my melanarus I has a ton of amphipods but now they are all but gone. I added another 2k from royal reef a few weeks back but not seeing many left in DT.

I'm trying to get the population up to help with an amphidinium dino outbreak but can't seem to get them going. Tank is 165 gallon with plenty of rock so should be able to get something going here. I do also have a small mandarin but don't think that really explains where my larger amphipods are going.

My Melanarus wrasse wiped out all amphipod in a week, a 300 gallon. You will never keep up with his needs if feeding amphipods. Good thing they are easy feeders and will eat anything i throw in tank from frozen to pellets.
