random question but have you thought of getting any of the monster Acanthurus like this big boi (Acanthurus xanthopterus) or do you have the big fish spots all filled lol

That's one of my favorite fish and i can barely find anyone with one let alone a tank that could house it

I may have one of those in the sump… I’ll snap a picture tonight when I get home

Oh wow. The dussumieri is a tank. It's sad that we don't see many adults of the naso and large acanthurus tangs, but we see so many babies.
*edit*
I was in my LFS a week ago, and they had a giant vlamingi tang. When I asked about it, apparently it had broken the front glass on a 300 gallon tank. The crazy thing is that this monster was only half grown, being about a foot long. It is nice seeing a tank that these fish have enough space in.

Moved the 210 gallon RODI barrel and salt water mixing barrel to the holding system room to free up the wall for the sink desk area build out…
May I ask the size of the white sump like item in this picture? I have seen some fish stores use these but I thought I read they are not reliable for water storage.

They are Buckhorn Agricultural Bulk Containers - FDA Compliant - https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/...xAm85SXN7tUrXiSwzW5RxcQQdP8y6p-8aAhVIEALw_wcB

My only caution is that they don't have a center bottom brace so build one that it can sit on. I brace them around the top because when they are above 75% full they tend to bow. Also over time they can crack (I had two do this), usually hairline cracks that then drip after a few years. These can be welded up to continue service but a pain when they are full of livestock.

Love the footprint and the 48"x44" holds about 180 gallons when full.

Tested out one Cannon last night… it’s super bright!! Planning on running 9-10k whites, 4-460nm blues in the center of each quadrant and surround them with Reefbrite XHO’s then adjust as needed

That impressive. That’s just one light right? And you have like 15 of them?

Stoked!! Finished the Header over the hallway viewing panel and framed in the walls for the tank room!! :)

Wow, so much better with no more visual obstruction. Looks like you kept the support in the same plane of where it was before and simply spanned the opening.

Did a ton today:

-electrical wiring for wall sockets by sink work station and back porch lights
-hot and cold water to the future sink site
-pegboard and shelves on wall over the sink work station
-took temp lights down
-skinned framing above the rim of the tank and on the sides
-built wall on left up top and skinned that one
-prepped sink drain and new RODI

Yesterday, I emptied one of my skimmers then took the rest of the day off.
