Usually I don't open a topic because we have a Anemone lovers thread which is perfect.
But, I recently learned Anemone have Acontia. They can expel this when in stress or sorts.
I had never heard about it, so ... was amazed. Maybe you like to know about it to.

Today I was able to photograph my small carpet Anemone from the backside. They are really small, so do not have thick skin yet. I can not do this with my larger nems.
The light was going trough it and lit up the skin. After being amazed about the polyps being attached to strings... I saw the Acontia.
Here you can see the beads which are the polyps on the other side. They run on strings. Check out the Anemone Lovers Thread for more.
You also start to see these tiny little white and brown strings. Some of them are curled.
There is a lot to find about the phenomena. There is some info online from which shows some pics of a Aiptasia type of anemone which show the inside and effect!

I also have a other small carpet which does not seem to have these Acontia. I have to learn a lot myself to find out why this is.
