Anemone ID

Hey guys!

Bought this anemone the other day on my LFS and I would like to know more about her but there isn't much information about white and blue anemones!

They told it likes to stay between the sand and a rock and not much more about it...

Could you guys help me identificate it?

Sorry bud, your LFS lied to you. This anemone appears to be bleached. If it were white it would be more cream colored. From the looks of it.... and where its located in your tank. I would guess Long tentacled Anemone or LTA. See below image.

Being bleached is a bad thing? Should I take any measure?

That’s a very bleached bubble tip anemone.
There are ways to get it back to good health though.

Yes for sure.... long story short - corals and anemones have algae in their tissue that help keep them healthy...they also give the animal color as well. If they expel the beneficial algae (normally due to stress or poor environment) if not restored the animal will die. So yes its a big deal, but don't panic. With anemones direct feeding, favorable conditions and time.... you can restore it. What you are looking for is the "dirty" look, which is the beneficial algae returning to the animal...please see example below. Im on the otherside of a bleached magnificent anemone...so its not impossible. Just take patience...

If you noticed on some of the tentacles you see brown splotches? That's what you want see on yours...overtime it will get its natural color back.

What should I directly feed her? Shrimp clams or other sea food?

Yes, give it small pieces until it regains its color. Expect for it to eat very slow at the beginning.

You can feed it a little bit of roids or other coral foods. Very easy to digest but a small amount

It is a LTA. From what you wrote it look like it is graining it’s zooxanthellae. It is a sand bed anemone, does not want a lot of flow but like deeper sand bed. Good luck.
