Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a BTA and the first day it seemed to do well other than not being able to find a place it likes. It was upside down hanging on my live rock for a day but then fell into the sand. His tentacles are still puffy and he seemed happy until today when i came home from work (day 3) and his foot kept shriveling and then going back to a slightly bigger size. He also had this clear whitish film peeling off his foot. His mouth isn't open but it does look like a small pair of puckered lips. Is he just adjusting or is this premature signs of death?

Water parameters....
Ammonia- 0ppm
Nitrite- 0ppm
Nitrate- 0ppm
Ph- 8.0
Salinity- 1.025
Temp- 80
I'm not sure the exact wattage of the lighting but I i thought it would've been to low as it was a cheap one from the LFS but it seems like he keep trying to get away from the light. There's a medium flow from the air stone and the filter but I don't have a PH. He keeps running from any water current anyways. The tank is 6 months old but my fish are all happy and healthy? Where did I go wrong if I did at all?

Sorry for the long message and thank you for any feedback!!

P.s I tried planting him in the sand (a couple of inches deep) but he wiggled his way out immediately twice

Turn off your power heads for a little while and place in a rock it will find a comfortable place and then you can turn on the power heads. Should take long maybe an hour.

So this morning he was wedged in between two pieces of live rock but not attached. It seemed like he wanted to get down again? He also had this curly tangly mess near his mouth and some of it is stuck to the rock (you can see it in the pics). His tentacles seem fairly okay but his mouth was open a little before I turned the lights on this morning. Could this have been because it was night time? Water parameters are still the same...

Here's some more pics of the weird stringy spindles coming from his tentacles and his mouth looks super puckered, sorry for the not great quality.

Do you think hes dying?
What can I do to help if anything?
