Another RC let down...

I had to tell this story. I rarely get on RC, I have a total of 6 posts over the last couple of years. Anyhow, many people contacted me because a guy is selling Purple Hornets on RC and stated that he got them from me. So, I posted in his thread that I will gladly confirm it for people if he wants to send me his ebay ID. I did not deny anything he was saying whatsoever and was actually trying to help the guy out. Even two R2R members contacted me asking if the person from RC purchased the Purple Hornets from me.
Anyhow, for posting that they banned me............ So, I emailed the MOD back to see what the problem was and he said that he did not care if the seller was ripping people off and that I was the rip off artist for giving the coral a crazy name and selling it at a high price. I just could not believe it!!
I only sell the Purple Hornets on ebay (so has some others from R2R) so that people can bid as high or as low as they would like. If I forced someone to bid a high amount I would be ripping them off. I start the bid at 19.99 which is more than fair for a nice polyp. If it sells for 300.00 then that is great if it sells for 19.99 then thats great also.
I was just amazed that not only was I banned but also called a rip off artist.

i don't think its RC policy to ban people like that, its just that certain mods like to feel powerful and have a personal vendetta against some individuals for whatever stupid reason.

It is peculiar behavior. It is always possible that someone in the RC clique is somehow involved in the sale of a look-alike, and nudge-nuge, wink-wink. you're banned. Only you and a few others on this site can verify the lineage of the Purple Hornet. It's all documented in the threads. An auction is an auction. I believe insecurity is the source of all meanness, and somehow, you made someone insecure, simply by your ability to verify lineage. Rough world out there. Places like R2R reaffirm my faith in the hobby. Steve

i hate to say it...but i was the one who contacted Gary about the for sale thread on RC & the guy using his name to make a profit...
sorry Gary...if i would have know all this was going to happen, i would not have said anything...my acct on RC has also been restricted.

My RC account is restricted also for a stupid reason they said because i'm a store I can't post pictures, nor help my fellow reefers with product suggestions. I don't even try to sell anything. Then I see obvious stores post pictures in the forums and they arn't even a sponsor and they get away with it. I think that is B-S! I only go on there now to support the local club. (PMASI)

that is the exact reason that RC will eventually just fade into oblivion and sites like R2R will prosper and continue to grow, you can police yourselves to a point but to abuse power is never a good thing. At least Rev and the Mods here will give us an oportunity to hash it out in an apporiate manner as long as it doesn't get out of hand. RC puts down they're almighty foot down and squashes anything and everything and bans people left and right even before they can explain themselves, I have seen it over and over on RC

yup yup. we arent allowed to sell anything on there because we breed clownfish and we have frag tanks.. who in this hobby doenst have frag tanks? its all a clique. i stay away.

I agree that is a toally stupid policy they have over there, that is why I find myself and enjoying my time much more here on R2R, I always gotta be afraid of what I say on that site

i got "warned" in that same forum when i called him out stating that they were not the lineage that he was stating...he said he got them from reefer but they look nothing like them...just trying to help reefer out from scammers.

That is the exact reason I DO NOT go onto RC anymore, anyone who knows anything and can truly help gets banned for telling someone how to do something, or telling someone they are or may be wrong. BUNCH OF POWER HUNGRY egotistical jerks there. :(

I got banned also, there was a post saying that someones wife sold his big reef tank lock stock & barrel for $100.00 dollars. Soooo me being who I am, I stated the obvious. Guys and gals while I am grateful that you like our little home here, we can't allow any bad talk of another forum. Were just not going to be one of those sites. I get upset and I know it feels good to vent, but not here please. I hope you all understand this is just what makes us who we are here at R2R.
