does anyone know why my purple squareback anthias is losing color?
I feed a variety of foods mysis shrimp w/ vitamine c added, new life spectrum, cyclop eeze granules, and ocean nutrition marine pellet.

my ph calc. etc are perfect since starting to drip kalk about a month ago & my bio pellets have kicked in finally nitrates at 0 no phos silica ect.
I got him in Oct & was very pretty then never been sick or hasseled by other fish gets fed several times a day
I read somewhere that intense reef lighting makes them fade?????
any suggestions?
thanks

Put it in low light and low flow.. :p
Exactly. They are a deepwater fish, and they are known to get dull (just like this) in brightly lit reef tanks.

I love them, but I've never kept them just for this reason. Best of luck.

I've had mine for 3yrs and it only faded at first when he didn't have girlfriends then his color came back after about a month of being around girls!
