I have been out of town for a few days and got back and notice a small discoloration on my tangs left side by belly. Eating and swimming normal. In fact food crazy. Tang is very active.

water parameters are in check.
yasha goby and tail spot blenny are good.
Pistol shrimp can’t see it but his holes are active.
All fish came from dr reef.
tank has been running sense may 10th.
No corals yet.

should I be concerned? 5C9327A6-6423-4AE8-AB63-13B22C612318.png

Yea seems to be a little better this am... soaking the food in selcon and lipo garlic. Interesting cause I do see him trying to wedge into the rocks at night. Thank you for the info!

I’d kinda doubt a Tang would injury itself on rocks.
Looks like a nip mark, mine got one when I didn’t thaw the frozen cube cause I was lazy, and everyone got to close, and the nip was a mistake.

Took only 14 days to completely heal.

I don’t think it is a scrape. Reef fish are adept at not wedging into rocks. They do sometimes get startled and run into something, but that tends to involve the snout or eyes.
If it has no other symptoms, I wouldn’t worry too much. If you can get a clearer lateral picture I might be able to tell more.
