Hmmm, I was expecting more from these units, but maybe not. I don't think I'll risk another InkBird 🤪

Thanks for your help!
The replacement unit is coming up on 2 years now so your mileage may vary. lol

I almost didn't buy another but they were on sale when mine died so I gave them another shot. I'm using preset heaters with them so at the time all I had to do was plug the heaters directly into the outlets and they brought the temperature back up to where it would normally have been with the controller.

Thanks again! My first InkBird was used, it came with a whole system buy I made a while back. This unit was "new" but from eBay, and I can't help shake the idea that this is a product made from numerous Chinese factories, and who knows where mine came from. I should have bought it from InkBird directly. Then, if it failed at least I could shake a stick at the right people 🤪

Thanks to everyone for the help, I really appreciate it! I think I'm going Ranco from now on 🙂

Sorry to hear this.
I've heard of this happening before.
I have an ancient Inkbird which I've dropped multiple times, gotten wet, accidentally dropped in my sump, plugged multiple heaters into and I've never had an issue with it.
But, like I said it's ancient, just like the eheim it's running.
I have noticed quite a bit of knock off stuff coming off of ebay, bought some plugs and wires for my truck that were bogus, caused me all kinds of issues
Never again.
Once again, sorry for your struggles.

Hey, thanks for the reply!

Interestingly, the InkBird seems to have resurrected itself. It had been powered off for about 36 hours and I was going to try to swap it out with a Ranco today, but I powered it back on, and it's been working well all evening. Maybe it just needed a reset? I have tried letting it sit unpowered for many minutes, but maybe I didn't leave it long enough 🤪 ??

I can’t get mine Programmed for Heater #2. I’ve tried every which way including having both heaters plugged in. I had a fellow hobbyist who programmed his two, and he couldn’t program the second heater. This stopped me from buying a second one, that would have a heater, on one circuit and a cooling fan on the other circuit.

I went through two inkbirds that both failed on me... then I replaced with a Helio, which has been rock solid for a few years until the recent change in weather and now I'm getting daily E7 errors. I'm going to give the sensor a citric acid bath and see if that corrects it, if not, I guess I'm replacing, yet a-f***ing gain... Heating really is the achilles heel of this hobby.

My InkBird in question is still working well today. I don't know what the problem was before, but it seems to have reset itself, at least in the short term 🙃

I’ve got 4 separate inkbirds, one running the air-con, one running the chiller and heater in tank, another one running the room heater for cold nights, and another for water change water. Had them a few years and had zero problems.
