It has a pink base, with orange/pink eyes. The rim is a pretty blue! Anyone have any idea what it might be?

Thanks!

Lol, thanks! I love it too. Ever since I got it, the eyes keep getting more and more orange! They have stripes in them as well..

Pretty sure it's a purple urkle look alike, I wouldn't sell it as a purple urkle since there is no proof of linage, but it is a very nice coral for sure!

Troy, I just looked up pictures and they do look somewhat similar. The eyes are developing green/yellow speckles in them!

Just contacted the seller, and asked where she got it. She said it was sold to her on eBay as a Purple Urkle. She had no idea it was a collector piece! Such a cool find! I'm actually cutting a frag for her to have, since she sold it for less than $50.

Finally a spot of good luck!

twinspot, the eyes are getting much brighter as they continue to be under my lighting. The light they were under before was not quite as intense.

gumby, this frag was purchased (according to the seller) almost 2 years ago I believe? Might be the same one, maybe not!

Whatever it is or isn't, I'm enjoying it in the tank! Its quite the display piece!

It's a nice piece Brooks. Always nice to see a decent colony grown from a frag. I will say that if the buyer got it 2 years ago off of Ebay, the actual Purple Erkel was going for around $1000 / eye back then (and only a handful of people had it). So unless she (original buyer) is a hardcore chalice collector, I would say that it may be a look alike. A name is just a name, of course. But it matters to a lot of folks...lol.

All of that being said, it is a great looking chalice and we appreciate you sharing it with us. Any chance for a top down shot so we can get a better look at the colors?
