Phosphate acceptable < .04
You’re good
So should I stop the GFO then?

I have 10 fish in my 65 gallons total system tank (maybe 55-60 gallons after rocks and etc). Feed frozen or pellets twice a day. Direct feed my corals twice per week. I have filter roller clarisea and do 5 gallons change per week.
This particular torch has been like this since beginning. I don’t think I want to make any change for a coral that I already like that to begin with. The only thing that is not doing so week is my scoly and wall hammer. Everything else is fine.

A tablespoon of GFO is sufficient for this size tank

I don’t think that’s Dinos.

your other torch in the background is fine.

don’t frag it if the heads aren’t separated.

your tank looks generally healthy.

we’re the heads receding when you got it?

Yes. It never fully extended since day one.

IMHO sometimes you get it with something already wrong.

I've had a really hard time stopping STN in Euph once set in no matter what I try to do. Dips, Pristine Water, flow, Light.

I feel it's something bacterial but it's hard to get to the bottom of it since I'm definitely no biologist, or chemist of any kind. I'm a salesman :D.

You gotta somehow get it to either stop STNing or see if there is a spot you can cut it.

If you have good Alk, Cal and Mag with good Nutrient levels as well, you may be able to cut it even though it's not fully split, do an iodine dip or Coral RX, and maybe even glue the end shut.

I'm not sure how else to help.

If your params are in check it's most likely something not caused by you.

GFO may be playing a part, but not my experience since I've run a tank with and without GFO and have had similar problems with Euph in the past.

Now I only buy Euph after watching it with an eagle eye for 30 minutes, never had a problem like that since (unless I actively kill one like I did 2 months ago hahaha) But in those situations I know what happened.

On different note, how many cups of tablespoon of carbon we should run per gallon of tank water?

TBH I don't pay too much attention the measurements per gallon.

I just use about 1 Cups in my 40G which is more than needed. I've got a huge container of carbon though, and Often I don't even use it as I end up getting Chemipure elite and just running that. lol.

Per Red Sea 1G of their carbon treats 1 Gallon.

So 40G's would treat 40G's.

1 Tablespoon is 17 Grams. So technically 3 Tablespoons would be fine for 40G.

There's 16 Tablespoons in a cup, so I'm over using by at least 12 Tablespoons :p

So last week I replaced my GFO. I had put in 2 tablespoon of GFO (down from 1 cup). Guess what, my phosphate has doubled. Last test was at 0.043. Today I got 0.107. Same feeding frequency.

is it possible that my tank is exception and need that much of GFO?

Anything wrong with this torch? It has been in tank for 2 plus weeks now. I dipped it with revive and brightwell coralmedic when I got it.

It seems that the parts where I circled have not fully extended compare to the other side (upper on the pictures). It looks like the circled area has less polyps.
