Apogee mq200 LED accuracy?

I was able to borrow an older Apogee mq200 from a local reefer, to dial in my LED lights. Which setting should be used, Sun or Electric and how accurate is this unit for measuring PAR from LEDs?

you’re going to get much higher (inaccurate) readings with that one…

you want the mq510 for our reefing purposes.

it’s not that it’s completely unusable…
but readings will be 60-65% higher than the 510

perhaps you can make it work adjusting on that

There is a correction factor. I don't remember it anymore, but you can look it up on Apogee's website. Make sure that you use it under water. Even if the numbers are not absolutely accurate, they can give you an idea of what spots in your tank are higher or lower than others.

The sensor on that one is soft near 400nm and also 700nm. There is light there that it will not capture.

The water might have to be very still to get consistent readings.

Yeah, the correction factor is multiplying the result by 1.08 for immersion effect.
