As I mentioned in the other thread, I won one of the mindstream monitors back in 2015 at MACNA. The raffle winners and kickstarter backers were offered the ability to pre-order last week, but it seems now the mindstream is available to be ordered for anyone who wants one through their website. Had you guys seen that yet? What are your thoughts about this one finally being launched? I'm pretty excited about the new tech!

Wow, $995 and then $34.95 a month. No thanks.
I know it's definitely not for everyone, but I'm pretty stoked about getting measurements on my reef 96x daily! :D

Honestly, the cost to me is reasonable for all the testing and accuracy they claim. What I am missing vs. Trident is the ability to control dosing.

I am not sure I would rely on the trident (or the mindstream) to manage dosing. Just too many steps - places for failure

well, I’ve been using the Trident to control the dosing of my Alk and Calcium for about 6 weeks and so far, it’s spot on

Thats great - I know lots of people have - I personally wouldn't use any automatic top off or dose - Its nothing against Trident. I also don't use Apex to control my radions (I just use the controller that comes with them). Have been burned before - when I have tried to allow machines to control my tank rather than me - so I choose to do it this way - so far its working better (for me)

I don't have money for this right now, but I also don't really see this as overly expensive. You can't compare 96 automatic tests a day to you 1-2 tests a week and expect the costs to be the same. $34.95 should eliminate most of the test kits you need to buy which is under $420 a year. Assuming it's accurate and you just have to swap the discs out once a month that's a lot of piece of mind for $420 a year + an initial investment of 1k.

I like the concept - but it seems to me the same thing I said about other monitors - You dont need many of those tests even once/day let alone 96 times/day - so I don't think you can compare prices that way. But - I also don't find it any more expensive than a trident / apex with all of the charges associated with their use.

Sounds pretty awesome, but not thrilled about having yet another magnet in the tank... I am in the market for an element/parameter monitor to add to my system, especially after just coming back from vacation... Trident, really isnt even on my list, but Alkatronic was my choice I was gonna go with, but this seems interesting... Just not digging monthly fee and it being another magnet... but very interesting indeed

I'm really anxious to hear real world experiences from the early users. It would be so cool to be able to monitor your parameters this closely.

This week I am away from home and it just happens that my tank is recovering from a bout with dinos. My alkalinity and calcium consumption has been rapidly increasing lately and if I had a Mindstream set up I could be adjusting my dosing pumps from the beach. Hopefully the adjustments I made before leaving will be adequate.
