How long was the system running? Do you have any pictures? I'm not going to spend the $ for kessils on this tank, that would blow the budget build idea.
I'll check, I think I do, oh no wasnt suggesting a kessil for the 9 gal. I used the wave point for my 8 gal.

Design flaw, had to add a third baffle so the return pump section was the only one that fluctuates. Dang! On the plus side it holds water!!!

Water flowing for two days and no leaks! The water you see under the bottom is where I spilt it while filling the tank. Got the skimmer installed and added an o-ring to allow for fine tuning the skimmer height. Going to drill a hole in the skimmer plate to get the airline out of the overflow.

Nice progress. I was thinking that opaque back wouldn't be so see through.

So does anyone have experience with the par38 bulbs?
I got one of the $30 par 38 on ebay for my 8 gallon. So far everything loves it (I wanna say 2 months or so). I think that would work great on your tank. I did end up covering the red led on mine because I didn't like color.

Ok I will have to see if anyone sells it local. The back being that transparent is going to bother me.

I just found it at an Ace Hardware. Not sure if you have those in your region.

Got a pic?
Sure do:) Also my Walmart sells the krylon fusion. It's the only place near me that does. Not even Lowe's or HD have it.

This is when I first put it on. I've added a bunch more corals and they all seem to be loving it. That hammer went from 2 heads to 4 or 5 since.

I use a par38 blue/white combo LED from Ebay for my sump. Though the depth is shallow at 13" , it's centered over the return section of my sump. I grow Seasons Greetings and Purple Rimmed Green Cap in there with no issue.

This is a better pic, except I had to switch to egg crate because of the heat and it does leave shadows, not the lights fault though lol.

Great job, I'm truly impressed! I wish I had the confidence to do it. I know I could build it but wouldn't trust it to blow up, lol
