Hi guys so currently had my tank for about 7 months running, I have two clowns and a flamehawk fish, my tank is 33gallons/120Litres. I've just purchased a Gold Midas Blenny and a Royal Grammar, would all these fish be compatible or will my flamehawk cause issues, my flame hawk is pretty small, maybe 3 or 4 cm give or take. Thanks guys

My only concern is the flamehawk being aggressive towards the blenny, and the clowns potentially being aggressive towards the gramma. Royal grammas can be territorial, but not nearly as much as clowns.

Personally, I would keep a close eye on the blenny and the flamehawk; that is my main concern

Hi Gumbies, thank you for the response, I appreciate it. I have bought an isolation box as a precaution, maybe I'll put the blenny in there for a few days?

It a crowded tank IMO so it will take some luck to pick out fish with a peaceful disposition.
Thanks for your response Mr Mojo, I was told that 5 to 6 fish were okay in a tank this size as long as I keep up with everything. Hopefully the isolation boxes help, I'll be receiving my fish thursday.

Hi Gumbies, update on whats happening, so the midas is picking on the grammar and trying to attack him in his little hole hes hiding in, ive rearanged and added a new rock as well and the midas has moved to the new rock, hopefully that helps, if it doesnt what would you suggest?

This is what the tank looks like after rearranging rocks, the white circle area is the midas new spot, you can see the grammar on the opposite side, thats where the fighting intially happened

Do you have an acclimation box? I would get one of those if you don't already have one

Blenny and grammas love hiding holes in my opinion you would benefit from more live rock. The old school thought was 1 pound per gallon or for you 33 pounds I believe that was because it was thought a pound per gallon was needed to have enough room for nitrifying bacteria, this is my tank. It’s 120 gallon tall and has 120 pounds of rock in it. It provides lots of room for my fish to hide from each other. I have three dwarf angels in there and they really leave each other alone because they can run in and out of the rock all day. Live rock is expensive, but I think it’s critical. just my opinion.

Hey Larry, ive already added some rock yesterday, ill wait abit more before i add as i dont want to start a mini cycle, i dosed bacteria when i added the rock. Theres not much more room for rocks unless i add something tall.
