I've had this infestation both on my old 40 breeder and brought them into my current 120 gallon 2 years ago. See pictures.

They grow everywhere as seen in the pictures. However, they do not seem to do any harm to the corals. I never see the netting that I read that they do. They do grow on the base of corals which don't look that great. I'm thinking these may not be vermatid but just tube worms.

What are your thoughts?. I end up throwing a lot of frags away when trimming due to that I do not want to sell these and bring this problem to other reefers. At the end of the day, I have gotten used to them and realize that irradicating them is not going to be possible.

Thanks for the input,
Albert

Thanks. I will take a few better pictures when lights are on.
I looked up Homotrema, they are not red, more brownish.

They seem to be harmless due to that they do not harm the corals. Never seen the webs. thanks

Yeah, they're all over the place.

So if I make fresh cut frags above the base, is there a chance that they'll get into someone else's tank?
