so I have a 24” 6 bulb fixture and the ballast for the two bulbs went out on me Friday. I purchased a non dimmable ballast for my fixture and overnighted it so I should get it tomorrow. Can I put in the non dimmable ballast? I never use the dimming feature.

Thank you for any help.

You'll need to ask ATI.
I think you can't because of the computer, but who knows...
Please let us know what they say.
Grandis.

Sent email to ATI and this is what they said.

“Regarding using a non dimmable in place of a dimmable. You can do this but the bulbs would be on all the time. The dimming wires are what tell the ballast to shut down the bulbs, so if you don't have a dimmable ballast you would have to power off the whole fixture to get the bulbs to turn off.”

That said you won't have control over the 2 channels anymore if you replace with the non dimmable ballasts.
Why not replace with the right ballasts for the fixture?
Your ballasts stopped working probably because of overheating. Check your fans!!!
If the fans aren't working you'll need to get new ones too...
High humidity will damage the fans.

I am replacing with a dimmable ballast, I ordered the non dimmable by accident when I was in a rush and had it overnighted. I figured I would see if I could use non dimmable instead. Fans all work fine, I bought the fixture used and is a few years old when I bought it.

You scored then! Change for the dimmable and have fun! ;)
