Interestingly, the folks at saltwateraquarium.com suggested that I needed 3 of the 204s for my 48" tank. Now I am even more confused as I think that can't be right :) :)

I have 3 204s for a 96x36x27 tank. To determine whether they would work I set up one pro over a 3’ long 70 at the specified 11” height. IMHO the fringes of the 36” don’t get enough for sps but plenty for lps and lower light lovers. I wouldn’t bother with the 204 unless I had 30” + width

These are 24 inches below the lights in a 24 wide 180 with 102's

Was about to pull the trigger on the straton pros but came across this video. Anyone have any other info about gen 2?

I was unaware there is already a Gen 2 of the Straton Pro. It’s not
Clear if they are just calling this a gen 2 where the original Straton would be the gen 1. He mentions the diffuser which makes me think that. Tough to tell with the translation.

That was my initial thought too until I started looking at the comments. Translating some of the comments and his responses to them indicate its a new light

Ok so you are correct. Here’s 2 snips from the German website.

Based on how long these took for the US to get I wouldn’t get your hopes of seeing them before 2026. And honestly the breakdown looks fine to me on the first version. I’d prefer it to more royal blue myself.

So the biggest change is less UV, less violet, more Blue and Royal Blue.

Guess its like the radion Pro vs the radio blue or whatever they call them.

I own the Straton Pro Gen 1 and I havent personally wished for more blue. I am sure you dont need addional blues for PAR (it is already a PAR monster) and not for spread either (I have tested spread, it is excellent). So guess it is just a matter of whether you feel you need UV/Violet or you just would rather have more blue/RB.

Could this be the gen 2?

SKU is LT-ATI4311 while the SKU for the one on BRS is 255047. But they look the same?

I noticed premium aquatics has discontinued the current version. Whatever happens I hope either gen 1 or gen 2 is available in the United States sometime this year, because I have been waiting to purchase these for my setup last and them no longer being available would be a gut punch.

For what it's worth, I have been playing more with my lights. I think if I had a choice between G1 and G2 stratons, I would go G2. When I previously measured PAR I did so with a spectrum that used a lot of the LEDs. The more white, 12-14K spectrum. However, when I used the same "output" level with a more blue spectrum the PAR dropped a lot (as would be expected when driving at the same percentage but using half as many LEDs). So then I had to bump up the drive a bunch in the blue spectrum to get the PAR I wanted (and the punch to the bottom of the tank).

So that being said, a light with the same form factor but biased more toward more Blue and Blue plus spectrum, I think would be better aligned to deliver the most power in the spectrum folks seem to want (unless you are one of the 12K lovers).

You can tell the G1 and G2 apart by the diode numbers. if I recall correctly the G2 has 30 royal blue vs 18 on the G1, so thats an easy way to tell.

Sorry you feel that way. I suspect you have never reached out to us for help as we are certainly happy to do so. How many manufactures in our hobby have live chat available 9-5 m-f? We answer our phones, return calls and emails. I think many who have dealt with us in the past would agree we stand way out in front of most all our industry for our support. However it comes at a cost and I don't think its unfair of us to expect to have an ability to pay for that cost (in the way of purchases made through our dealer network).

Generally speaking until a cost is involved (like if we have to send a part, shipping label for a return etc) we do not require a receipt. We support folks who have 10 year old fixtures they bought 3rd or 4th hand pretty regularly.

If you would like to discuss it further you can find me on live chat or give us a call :)
long time customer hands down one of the best customer service out there ...........

Is it possible to connect to straton pro 153 lights with LAN cable or any other cable? And is it possible to turn off WIFI AP from the fixture ?

All Straton fixtures do have an Ethernet port. You can turn off the WiFi (or hide it) however this would require going into the root of the fixture and its not something I would like to post publicly. Please contact the ATI business for your country for help. Hint, port 280. If you can take it from there you know what you are doing :)
