My fzone ato keeps filling up to much, each time when te water level gets low it fills up between the high and the low. Instead of the right under the low sensor. Which causes salinity swings of 0.001. Further more when i unplug the ato for a waterchange it always needs to recalibrate what also cause salinity swings. I installed as the instructions say! Anyone that can help?

Optical sensors are notoriously fickle, but it sounds like you could have a software glitch too. You might be best off just adding a mechanical float valve for better consistency. You might still be able to use the fzone ATO if it is just a lag issue with shutting off the water when it reaches the first sensor, but if it just runs the pump continuously after adding the float valve you might need to look into a different ATO system or see if fzone will replace your defective one.

The thing is, i dont have any corals in this tank yet. I’m planning on just softies with a few lps, no sps at all. Maybe the corals can handle the small swing? What do you think?

You will be fine with that small of a swing. Do you happen to have a controller like an apex?

There's a reason ATO's are expensive. If you go with a cheaper unit I would expect to not be very good.

Yes it's expensive but as long as you keep it clean you should have no issues
If I take a solo cup of water out of a 100 gallon system it will turn on and fill the return back up.

Is the nano version just as good?
