I really want an aussie gold torch as a final piece, but they're very pricey (best I can find is $350 per head). I've heard mixed reviews on how hardy they are and how well they adapt to captivity. Anyone have any reviews on these guys? What's their success rate?

What are the other torches besides Aussie Gold? Also how far away is the Space Invader from the torches? Thanks!

The one if front is a dragon soul. The other is just green with pink tips. Not aware of a name on it. And the space invader looks closer than it is lol. Definitely keep those away from all other coral.

All those variants are super pretty, but I'm specifically talking about the Aussie gold. It's more or less pure gold with blue tips. @PeterC99 has a great pic of one above.

Beautiful. Can I ask where you got it and how much you paid?
Thanks! Funny thing is a LFS had a raffle, 40 spots at $10 a spot and I won! They usually do raffles for about what the coral is worth. So if you look at it that way then it would have sold for $400.

I actually had to move the space invader to a different tank because I have 2 huge clowns and they kept hosting the sweepers on it and were causing damage. Clowns being clowns...

you shouldnt have a problem with them---medium light to medium flow----if you have had torches before you'll be alright-----and some places give a 7 day guarantee

Update: bought this two-headed Aussie gold torch from ASD and it arrived basically dead on arrival. Luckily they're an awesome store and are refunding, but still, not a good sign. Same shipment had another Aussie torch, an Indo torch, a goni, and a chalice. Both Aussie torches were dead, everything else was right as rain. I don't think they ship well.

Interested how yours does long term. I got one from ASD at it already lost a head. Medium flow and about 130 PAR, doesn’t seem to happy :/

Mine was dead on arrival, so..... it will not do well long term. Mine is being refunded though. I think maybe these torches are a little too sensitive for me. They don't seem to adjust well to our tanks.

Ah gotcha, read as if you’re getting a replacement. Smart choice IMO, definitely seem finicky in my limited experience. I got a hammer at the same time that is thriving
