Are these the same corals being discussed?

That is a trachyphyllia radiata or old school welsophyllia radiata. The old school name is similar. If that is yours, it is a beauty.

Yup those two are mine. One looks much better than the other. Are the care instructions basically the same?

No the Symphillia wilsoni is notoriously difficult to keep by most. Trachyphyllia are more easily kept. But even an easy coral for some are difficult for others. I have a trachyphyllia radiata in my sump for about a year now. It must be over 8" in diameter. I love them but unfortunately so does my angel. It was easier to put the coral in the sump than catch the angel.

Definitely looking a lot better! It has some neat coloration to it. You snagged it from a local seller?

I'm reviving this thread. My rainbow started to recede. I think it was getting too much flow. I've had it to 3 months. My green wilsoni is much larger and is uneffected. More info on exact care would be great. I love these things!

They are pale yet very bright. I run a ULNS too. Still looking for more info

I bought one for a friend and he has had much better luck with it being tucked under a rock ledge. Much less light and the color came right back. I know that's not much help, but it's still going strong and looking pretty awesome.

Receding looks like it has stopped. Alk I'm sure was the major factor. Alk dropped very fast in 1 week, to my surprise. Now I'm feeding every other day to try to get positive growth back.

Yes, low alk will make lps recede, But yours look really bleeched out. Too much light maybe?

That looks like over illumination to me. Provide less light and feed more, keep alkalinity stable. :-)
