Cool!!!Free cuc! Ya mine breed as well. I few weeks ago I saw one spawning on the glass and another make a bee line to it, I never saw a trochus moves fast, and then began producing its own cloud in the water.
I have baby nassarius snails as well. Happy Thanksgiving!Cool!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!!I have baby nassarius snails as well. Happy Thanksgiving!
Yes they do but unlike other snails they don’t lay eggs, that’s why they successfully breed in our tanks. Instead they spawn into the water column, first the female and then the male to fertilize them. About six weeks ago I saw one on my glass giving off a cloud of eggs and then another one about 12” away made a bee line towards her, never saw one move so fast and joined her in producing a clown. My ceriths lay eggs on the glass which end up getting eaten. They both enjoyed a cigarette after.Just did a quick search because I was curious if Trochus snails are known, captive reproducers.
I have baby's everywhere in my tank!! And a huge egg sack that I just saw last night :)
I love when there are signs of a successful reef, especially when you're getting minimal growth from coral in my system :p

These are ceriths eggs. Well I guess they have to end up somewhere so perhaps. I always thought that they ended up individually in cracks and crevices in the rock but I suppose they could clump together some times. How cool!!!
Well, I found a stringy/patchy white tissuey looking thing, flowing on my rocks. Maybe Cerith snail eggs?? Those are usually laid on the glass though. I'm stumped!
