I few months ago, I picked up a 180 off of craigslist. It looked pretty beat, but it cleaned up nicely.

After nearly giving up on it, I finally got the nerve and set it up. I'm moving the contents from my 55 and my 24g aquapod over. All of the fish have been moved (except a few I took in for store credit) but I still have some corals to move.

For livestock, ATM, I have:
  • a false perc (had two, one has disappeared)
  • blond naso male
  • orange spotted rabbit
  • coral beauty
  • one chromis (going to get more this weekend)
  • yellow tang
  • 6-line
  • crocea claem
  • fire shrimp
  • pepermint shrimp
  • GBTA
  • RBTA
Hopefully I'll get the rest of the corals moved over this weekend. I just moved the more hardy ones to start with.

The pics below are only with half the lights on. I'm running 175w on the outside and 250s on the inside (175--250--250--175). I'll be installing VHOs for actinics...I have everything for that except the time to do it.

I'll post some better pics once things are stable.

I bought these (cold cathode tubes) of of ebay. Each tube is 12" long. Both plug into a single inverter. Connected to the inverter I have a 12v adapter that can be tuned down to different voltages. Right now I have it on the lowest to keep the light dim but am curious on how I can automate something

Cost with shipping < $10.
12v adapter $6 from Frys.
Fish not bumping into rocks at night, priceless :-)

Now I'm wondering if I can use white and blue for my pico. They put out almost no heat...kind of nice lights. Probably don't have the PAR to be effective on their own (Pico is about 8" deep).

Yeah, the wait is almost too much...just making me buy more larger corals. I've got a mini acro colony coming in today from Zoanuts.

All of these came from members here on R2R or from my local club, Atlanta Reef Club. I love the fact that the hobby allows you to get great livestock from fellow reefers.

Happy as a Clam :-)
