Ball tip anemone

I have found 4and possible 5th ball tip anemone in my tank in two different places in the tank.

Are these a problem or what should be done about them.

Assuming they are actually BTAs and not Mojano or Aipstasia no problem at all.

That's a pseudocorynactis. I believe there are two different kinds and the easiest way to tell is its interaction with the light cycle in the tank. I have a few in my tank, they have caused no problems for me whatsoever and I actually quite enjoy them! I imagine the only issue they could cause is if they spread and grew into or near corals.

How big do they get.

None of mine have ever exceeded the size of a dime. They have also detached on occasion and landed in a nearby rock.

I have hundreds without any issues they even live on my clam. They tend to take over dark corners of your tank and pick up detritus and leftover food. Only issue i could see is if they are corynactis and not pseudocorynactis as they get bigger and can eat pods and tiny fish.

Based on size... pseudo stay small and corynactis can get to be about an inch or more across. They arent terribly sticky like btas so would have to be a tiny fish to get eaten. And main difference between corynactis and majano is how the tentacles look. Majanos dont have tips to their tentacles like corynactis do.

It's hard to say. They have been closed during the day but open when the tank is feed. When I First noticed them they were only open during the night and looked like a zoo all closed up.

The base is orange the reason I thought it was anemone. Also the tentacles look nothing like a zoo.

I genrally find it too hard to distinguish between these two and Majano and as a result will extinguish any of the three no questions asked.

I find majanos easy to identify now but also dont rly find them to be much of a nuisance compared to aptasia. That one i extinguish without a thought.
