Hello ,
i have a problem with Green Cyano in my RS Reefer 350(~100 gallons) . The Cyano is covering the rocks and a few little spots on the sand. The tank is a sps dominant with good coloration and growth on all my corals. The only thing that bother me is the look of this bacteria .
The tank is 1.5 year old , and the parameters are:
* PO4: 0.08 ( Hanna )
* NO3: 5 ppm ( Salifert )
* KH: 8.4 dKH ( Salifert )
* Ca: 420 ppm ( Salifert )
* Mg: 1325 ppm ( Salifert )
I only use RO/DI water with 0 TDS.
From the start of this aquarium i've used Rowaphos to reduce Po4.
I have a refugium with Chaetomorpha.
Some observation:
The flow is covered by two Jebao RW8 that are set up almost at full speed
I tried to battle cyano with bacteria ( Special Blend Microbe Lift ) but nothing happend.
I tried to blow the cyano from the rocks with a turkey baster but came back after a few hours.
I tried to reduce the photoperiod , this method it is working but just a little bit.
I've noticed that the cyano is increasing when i dose Aminoacids ( 1 time / week ) .
What i plan to do:
Start dosing No3Po4-X ; 2 ml - 100 gallons .
The only thing i can think of is that my No3 is not balanced with Po4 ..
What do you think ? It is ok to start dosing No3Po4-X for my problem with cyano ?
