I tend to use approved product such as coralRX
One ml Bayer to 100 mls tank water. I typically make up 300 mls for one to five or so frags. I let them stew for 15 minutes and then rinse in another cup of tank water.

I have been using Bayer for 3 years now. I add enough to make it look milky and keep the frag in it for 10-15 mins depending on where it came from. Then I also have 3 more dip trays with just saltwater from my tank in it and transfer the frags thru the other 3 trays to rinse off the Bayer. I keep them in those trays for 5-10 minutes.

I typically use the BattleCorals ratio of 3.5oz Bayer to 1L water, which works out to about 1ml Bayer to 10ml water for 15 minutes.

I saw that but I also saw that they no longer use Bayer as a dip for safety reasons...but yes this seems to be a once accepted effective way to do it. Thank you!

If these are acropora -- and only if these are acropora -- I would dip with what all the cool kids now use:

Potassium Chloride

1 tblsp per gallon or 3 grams per liter

Almost as mild as Bayer
More effective against flatworms
Mixes almost clear
No rinsing, no gloves required

I've been using Reefbums Bayer dip procedure.

10ml of Bayer per 1 cup tank water- dip 10 min

transfer to clean container, clean tank water dip 15 min

repeat 15 min dip 2-3 times with clean container and water

I swish them around and baste them periodically during he process

Best practice would be to cut off the plugs, they can harbor eggs that the dip wont kill. but it's hard to do when the frags are all encrusted onto the plug...
