Thanks for the phone call..........

**Edit: Apparently my winky face emoji didn't show up
Unfortunately we went out to Perris to watch the fight. My friend said if I cooked a brisket then he'd pay for the fight. Then he told me to cook 2 and he'd pay for the other as well. We only ate about 2/3 of the first and we tapped out.

Looks like it turned out horrible. I suggest shipping any left over to me for proper disposal. ;Drool;Drool;Drool;Drool
It came out pretty good. Next time though I will buy the brisket a couple weeks in advance as it didn't really age well. When I bought them they were stiff as a board with only 2 weeks wet age on them. I would have preferred them to be 30-45 days aged. I wrapped in butcher paper and it really preserved the bark. Also got a nice 5 hour rest and there was no flid left in the foil. It retained it all and was so juicy! I do need to invest in a slicing knife though If I'm gonna keep cooking these.

I have only done brisket twice, its too time consuming with my natural gas smoker/oven Constantly feeding chunkwood and putting out fires. Any suggestions?

I would love to get one, I have a cabelas by the house and they have a bunch of Tragers ? I just need to add that feeder box thing. On the left is smoker/oven-its a side burner that I piped and wired in a stainless box. I have room in the cabinet on the right of it.

I can't believe they are the only company that make this conversion. You could buy a pit boss smoker and take out the parts you needed for the same price and have a much better product. That is the route I would take rather than using the assembly from some unknown company. If you notice the pic of the parts, the pellet assembly comes complete in one part.

So you would save money buying this.

I know thats how i made all mine in the past. buy a cheap side burner. my old Weber stand up with a bowl of lava rock (remember that) over the burner and I put chips on the rock, that had the best results. I do want to rig a feeder but I need to visualize whats happening/working. I found this awhile ago thinking my burner has too many btu but I still need a feeder. https://www.appliancefactoryparts.c...fFhwKPSVN9tJ97g6d5eR2Eut9xgjFI1xoCEhsQAvD_BwE

Well, did bbq shrimp for an appetizer tonight. Something for the wife to munch on while she watched the LSU game and I cooked the steaks. Picked up a Nolan Ryan 34 prime steak that was marked down at Krogers to try. I was impressed. Very tender, could almost use just a fork to cut it. Of course at the normal $20/lb I would expect it to be very good. Tried just salt/pepper tonight on the steaks. Put a little too much salt for my taste but the wife loved it.

So what’s better for burgers a smoker or grill? I’ve never used a smoker before.
If you are a Ford guy you will like grilled. If you are a Chevy guy, you will like smoked. ;):D

It's personal preference, I'm sure you can find fans of both methods. I've done both now and I prefer grilled, but I'll smoke them again in the future just to change things up.
