Hi folks,

Here's a pic (this is the best I can do at the moment so please forgive the reflection and funny angle) of my 1st saltwater tank. It's a 2nd hand Waterbox Peninsula 25. People say it's a 90 litre tank. I think it only has about 70 litres of water in it.

I'm pretty sure the tank has cycled and have put a pair of clown fish in with my rock.

Unfortunately, I'm not very patient and want to buy everything at once, but nature has a way of teaching us. The clown fish are the project for this month. Maybe next month, a couple more fish, a refractometer and a protein skimmer. We'll see.

Cheers.

Hi folks,

Below is a pic I took this morning of my battery of tests for my tank. It only has 2 clown fish it and is showing some ammonia. I am only feeding them about 1/16th of a cube of Artermia brine shrimp a day (not even a small pinch) or maybe every three days or more the equivalent of appropriate pellets. The ammonia looks like it's about 0.5ppm or a touch more and has been sitting on that for the last 3 days.

The fish seem to be happy, I would like to see the ammonia levels drop.

Should I stop feeding for a day or so and see what happens?
As the aquarium is newly cycled, should I add some more beneficial bacteria?

Any comments?

Cheers
