bean animal/c2c plumbing?

I have read through the threads and cant find the answer. Most say to use 1 1/2"
drains, I drilled the 3 holes for 1" drains. Am I reading correctly that I should
go from 1" bulkheads to 1 1/2" pvc drains? Or will it draing correctly if I use
all 1" for the drains. The tank is a 40 breeder.

You can use 1" drains just fine. The 1.5" drains just allow for more flow.

I used 1" bulkheads with 1.5" pvc. I probably should redo it with 1" drain pipe but I already have it done and frankly don't feel like redoing it

+1 - it doesn't matter. 1" is probably all you will ever need on a 40b though at full siphon though.

FYI: It won't hurt at all if you did this, this is a common setup for durso drains.

Maybe I will just up it to 1 1/4". The 1 1/2" seems massive behind such a small tank.

I am setting up a 40b also and have been reading a bunch as well. I thought I read 1 1/2" bulkhead reduced down to 1" pvc pipe. You have 1" holes drilled already so I would just run 1" bulkhead and 1" pipe.

There is the link to bean animal itself. It goes 1" bulkheads to 1.5" sanitary T and drain lines. You can go 1" however.

Would having three 2" bulkheads affect anything with a bean animal? Would it still be silent? Or loud?

It would be silent assuming the siphon valve is closed almost completely or the pump is pushing out a ton of water

It's all how it is set up. If you can balance the flow between drain and return and have your siphon set it should be silent.

I have mine in the basement, just to the right of where you sit to watch TV. It's also right below our living room. I hear my vortech pumps, but never the drain.
