I finally have a Favia. I’m quite excited

Man I freaking love my red flashlight. Decided to check things out for the heck of it.

30 min later. I have many large spaghetti worms. I have several brittle stars hiding in the rocks. I have four crabs. Found two tiny ones.

all my lps minus the hamme had feeders out. And since the favia is new, the teal candy cane is splitting for a fourth time, and the Hydno is always hungry, I fed a small pinch of flake for all the nighttime critters.

water change this weekend so things should be fine. Can’t wait until I have an actual nutrient export plan in place. Well…a skimmer, ats, and more rock and water volume.

it’s apparently a toxic lemon favia or something. But yeah. It’s pretty vibrant. Even in the bag it was clearly red orange yellow. Just seemed like a deal that could not be passed up.

It’s probably a very strange hill to die on, but I’d rather have most favia than most acans. Don’t get me wrong, there are a few I would acquire. But by and large I like more favia/favites than acans/Lords/micro

So. List of what I’ll be picking up at lowes:

sheet of plywood. They sell pre-cut 2’x4’ 3/4’ sheets. (Will still need to cut out the whole for drains and return)

Sealant of some sort (and way to apply it)

8-10 1” unions
8 1” elbows
Adapter for my return (need to bump it out from 3/4” to 1”)
1” t fitting for the return split.
15’ of 1”pvc (room for a few inevitable mistakes)

pvc primer and cement.

also will be figuring out how to get my ATS situated

Thinking about splurging and going ahead and getting a skimmer with a smaller footprint for the 120. I know my reef octo is great but it takes up soo much space.

looking at the aquvitro division skimmer. We’ll see where I’m at after all the immediately needed things are acquired

Went with 2 coral plus bulbs, 2 blue plus, and 2 true actinic.
