Please take a moment and nominate best aquarium DIY projects that you really like!

After we make a list I will run a poll and the winning DIY idea will get $100 and we'll give $100 to the member who nominated them!

So get to it!

Thanks!

In my 60 gallon rimless seahorse tank with 40B fuge we have had algae problems for the past year or so. I have tried it all and the two things that I think are causing it are the slower flow and tha mount of nutrients. I have been able to cut back the brown algae with Red Sea's no pox. However in its place bright green algae showed up. With all of the talk about Algae scrubbers and I decided to give it a try.

Hey would you mind posting the info here in a thread on R2R? Thanks!

I need to nominate a few that have stood out to me over the years:

1. Toxic's instructions on turning an old router into a wireless adapter which allows our aquarium controllers to talk to the network wirelessly. It really is a money saver if you have an old router at home or access to Craigslist to find a cheap one... https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/do...outer-into-wireless-adapter-using-dd-wrt.html

2. Automatic Water Change System. AquamanE was the OP but there are many others who shared what they did on the same lines as him. It is a very informative thread and really goes in-depth into best practice and how to adjust these systems to help bring stability to reef tanks through gradual and consistent water changes... https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/do...water-changes-doesnt-get-any-better-then.html

3. Pepcrylic's "Let it Snow, Let it Flow, Let it Grow thread. I know it is a build thread and it is still not complete, but it is truly a DIY build thread from the start. The information so far has been fantastic and eye opening for the world of acrylic. I look forward to the updates and further DIY knowledge to be gained in that thread: https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/member-tanks/184776-let-snow-let-flow-let-grow.html

4. I must also nominate my Apex VDM Port Splitter as it is really useful for wiring multiple lights and conserving ports. However I am not sure if I can nominate myself ;) https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/do-yourself-diy/130841-apex-vdm-port-splitter.html

Keep them coming!

I thought there was another one like this with no prize and I nominated the person who did the duo filter socks. That saved me so much money and cleaning

Let's get some more entries on this one and then we'll start a poll!
