Best silicon for tank build

How large are you building? Some of the standard silicone will work for something small, but over 30 gallons and I'd say stick to the RTS silicone as it is an adhesive silicone and can hole up to more pressure.

Sorry my mistake... It's RTV Silicone Adhesive. Typical ones used are Momentive 103 for black or 108 for clear. They are available at Grainger or some True Value or Ace stores (not mine though). The Momentive line is made by GE and it's what many glass tank manufacturers use for their tanks. Call up a few and ask what type of silicone they use to build their tanks.
