Hi Randy,
Is there an advantage for using a bicarbonate/carbonate mix ? I see some 2 parts that have a mixture of bicarbonate and carbonate mix.

I don't think so. One can design such a mix (mostly bicarbonate and a little carbonate) that has no pH effect up or down, but that not a reason to use it, IMO.
