14g bio cube
Fully cycled using Dr Tim’s over the past 1.5 months (we were out of town so I did not add any livestock yet)

I’ve removed the stock filter cartridge.
I’m using simple floss in chamber 2 and bio-foam pad on the return.

10lbs liferock

This will be primarily couple of fish, shrimp and cleanup crew, mushroom, Zoa, star polyp tank.

Main questions:
Do I need additional filter media like marine pure bio balls, etc?

If so will I need to start cycle over?

What product would you recommend if the floss/pad are not adequate?

I’m not quite ready to jump into the world of a refugium.

Thanks everyone!

You shouldn’t have to recycle the majority of your beneficial bacteria is on your rock. I based my filtration for my Biocube 32g. I hope it helps.

So yes I do need additional media or I’m ok with the floss and rock?

That may work with weekly water changes but monitor your parameters, that will determine if or when you need to add additional filtration.
