I got this biocube from a friend. It’s a two chamber sump in the back, with intake grates going down the entirety of one side. It’s a 32 gallon I believe.

didn’t come with any filtration equipment and is missing the gates to close the grates. Want to get an insert for filter media for it.

That's a pretty recent model. I had two different models a few years ago, and neither of them had that sort of indentation in the middle of the filtration area. Can't help you beyond that.

Interesting. I thought it was an old model considering he said it came with some halide lights.

Well, I suppose it's also possible it was a really old model? I got my first one probably close to 10 years ago, I don't know how long they've been making these.

As far as I'm aware even the newer models of biocubes never had that indent in the middle chamber.

Does that have a hood on it? All biocubes have a hood that houses the lights. Even the older HQI(had halides) still had a hood and the three chambers in the rear.

It has mounting brackets for the hood on it, but I had to buy a 32 gallon hood from Coralife that didn’t fit- a bit too big. Think it might be a 29 gallon tank.

I don’t think it’s a biocube. Does it have the coralife or oceanic branding? I think it might be a Nanocube or some off brand AiO (but I could be wrong). You may have to end up going lidless (or get a mesh lid or get a piece of glass cut for a lid) and then use a pendant/puck light.

I’m not seeing any branding whatsoever on it.
I actually kind of like the big lid on it...keeps airflow moving and keeps fish inside.
If I do go lidless I’m upgrading to an AI Prime or AI hydra most likely...or Chinese black box.

Anyways, figured I’d give an update on the tank. Re did the filtration slightly so it’s skimming the top- flow was previously too “wide spread” coming through the filter grates to have any pressure. Just dosed AB+ so apologize for the green. Also, does the Montipora look like it’s attaching?
