I'm only a few months into my first reef aquarium. I've had saltwater fish before, but never corals. Everything has been going pretty well until yesterday. I saw a "white" patch on one of my candy canes. Today it's full blown completely white. Is this the result of bleaching from bright lights? The one on the right seems fine. Should I move it lower? Is it possible for the color to return to normal?

Hmm thats odd that one head is bleaching and not the other. How much light are they getting? How about flow?

I have aquaticlife t5's with an additional blue led strip. For flow I have a mp10 on one side of my 65 gallon tank, and an aqueon 950 on the other.

I have four bulbs and the candy cane was about in the middle of the tank.

I donno, that doesn't make much sense to me. How long have you had the candy cane?

Params all in check?

Hopefully someone who has a better idea will chime in.

Why does it look so bright compared to the 1 on the right? I have my kryptonites on the bottom of the tank and I also feed them mysis every week or 2 and they are growing like crazy.

It's so bright because I'm guessing it's bleached perfectly white. I'm not sure how one bleached and the other didn't. I'll move them lower and see if it gets any color back.
