Hi everyone, I purchased this blonde naso for my 250 gallon reef tank about a month ago. He hasn’t eaten since I got him, I’m housing it in my frag tank for now to see if I can get him to eat. I’ve seen it take a bite of some frozen but spit it out, haven’t seen it go after seaweed either. He’s got these weird disclored spots on him but I can’t id what it is. Can anyone help me out? He’s been active just not eating no matter what I try, even tried garlic and selcon.

For feeding try live food.
Black Worms, White Worms.
Even Brine shrimp, while not very nutritious they might stimulate him to feed.
I will let @Jay Hemdal chime in on the spots

Tough to say if the white marks you are seeing are just normal Naso stress marks or not.
Sorry, but a fish that hasn't fed for a month (except for eels) is unlikely to just start up feeding again. Without it showing some specific symptom, there isn't much to treat it for. Do you know the fish's history? Had it fed for anyone prior to you getting it? If not, it may just be messed up from the supply chain (cyanide collection, etc.).

The food it spits out is probably too big. My blonde naso had that problem. I put some green seaweed (with no garlic) in a coffee grinder with some of the naso's aquarium water. I ground the seaweed in this water until the seaweed was small enough that my naso would eat it and not spit it out. I poured the watery mixture into the aquarium so I would not lose the super small pieces.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
