Blue face in trouble

Hi i have a blueface for about a year and a half and i noticed this morning that when he tried esting his jaw locks up. It pops back in but then when he tried eating it gets locked again. Any advice?

I’ve heard of fish’s jaws getting “stuck”, but haven’t encountered it myself. Perhaps @4FordFamily or @HotRocks have more insight?

He it keeps on poppong in and out. Hes eating like a pig.
Is this life threatening?

Looks like an injury, usually they heal up fine. Sometimes the swelling can be the cause (from the injury). Epsom salt 1 Tablespoon per 5 gals, up to two doses over 48 hours may help.

Other than that it’s a waiting game and hope it heals quickly so it can eat.

Its definitely not a injury. Because when he is not trying to grab something with his mouth aka. Eating , his face is back to normal

A mouth that isn’t obstructed or damaged would function properly. Either there is a parasite causing the mouth to be damaged or blocking the mouth from closing or some (possibly minor) injury is not allowing the jaw to perform properly. If you don’t see a parasite, I’d assume it’s as I suggested and give it a shot. Not much you can do otherwise. :-/

Highly unlikely. You’d see red marks on the side particularly the lower half of the fish long before this symptom, which is typically only seen at death or on “death’s door”.

The reason why i say that because "locked jaws" is a sign of Uronema

I am aware, that's generally post-mortem. Or when they are on death's door. This is not a case of uronema, I am as close to certain as I can be without a microscope :)
